The paper "United States Presence In Iraq" is a marvelous example of a research proposal on politics.Iraq was the second victim of US-initiated war against terrorism in which millions have been killed to date during the last 8 years of gruesome limitary venture. Indeed, the war was imposed by Bush Administration claiming they would wipe out terrorists and control their endorsers if they continued their illicit activities and practices. Nevertheless, Bush and the company were being unable to locate any such weapons of mass destruction across Iraq, despite repeated attempts.

Saddam, Iraq’s dictator, was encountered in a military operation after being declared as a supporter of terrorist and a trouble creator with inclination to sabotage the world’s peace and order. Thesis Statement: Having attacked Iraq in 2003 over suspicion of the presence of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), US concerned authorities are yet unable to prove the legitimacy of their stern action against Iraqi forces and failed in entirety to unearth so-called WMDs.

Indeed, the question is whether to continue wasting money and soldiers in grisly Iraq or whether to withdraw forces and spend the allocated war budget over welfare and well being of the US population. (Yegin, 2009) and (CBS Associated Press, 2008) Point 1: The research would like to reveal the fact that Iraq is a Shiite dominated state having 60 - 65% Shiite population followed by Sunni Muslims to be 30-35% and Kurds nearly 5%. Indeed, the nation has always remained the center of conflicts; more specifically, the Iran war, Kuwait’s invasion, Gulf war 1991 and now the US – Iraq war 2003 - to – date.

For instance, Sunni Muslims do not morally accept Shiite domination and seek the support of neighboring Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. Indeed, they gained power under the rule of Saddam Hussein rule who suppressed Shiites to gain power and authority in federal cabinets. In addition, Sunni Muslims were among the actual players who initiated militarily insurgency movement in 2003 against US Coalition forces, which turned into ‘vicious civil war’ in 2006 and have continued their struggle to oust US troops from Iraq.

However, Muqtada-ul-Sadr, an anti-American Shiite leader also staged military ventures against forces for the so-called sacred aim of independence from the USA. On the contrary, a majority of Shiites buttressed the USA as they seek protection against Sunni Muslims. In short, it is worthwhile to argue that US forces have sympathies of majority Shiites that compel them to prolong stay in Iraq. (Msn Associated Press, 2006) and (Ricks, a- 2010) Point 2:It should also be pointed out that US presence in Iraq is now largely condemned by the general public, think tanks, pundits and analysts who believe that Bush Administration has misused their paid taxes and US financial resources by misleading Americans about WMDs and commencing a ruthless war against Iraqis.

Indeed, this has not only resulted in extreme hatred against Americans worldwide but also has adversely impacted economic growth, sustainability and prosperity. For instance, the policy-makers have focused on establishing various giant bases that resemble with traditional American towns such as Al-Asad (hosting 17,000 forces and workers and having American food restaurants) and Tattil base that is the evidence that Pentagon has long-term aspirations about presence in Iraq (Rick, b - 2010), (Holland, 2007) The worst part is that US soldiers have remained deliberately involved in on-the-war crimes and unethical practices such as rape, physical abuse, and mental torture, etc.

that ashamed peaceful US community in general. Most of the cases have taken place in these giant Iraq based US towns that tended to be safer warehouses for any illicit activity. (Colvin, 2008) and (Chon, 2008) Point 3: Finally, it should be highlighted that aims (such as breaking terrorists’ networks, controlling Iraq from use of WMDs and Iran from gaining power and influence in Middle-East region) of commencement of this war against terrorism in Iraq have not been achieved and they would never be accomplished because it was an absolute mistake that developed on false grounds and aspirations.

Indeed, the new Obama administration is serious in the eventual withdrawal of 154,000 US troops from Iraq after the establishment of Iraq’s government structure. The original plan is to withdraw 50,000 troops in 2010 and to pull out remaining by 2011 – 2012. The elections were also planned to be held in 2010 after which this withdrawal would commence. (Friedman, 2009) Nevertheless, the authorities fear Sunni – Shiite conflicts in the federal cabinet (before or after elections), which would certainly aggravate US regional strategies and trigger political unrest in Iraq.

(Dagher, 2010).
